WIB Podcast # 46 – Romantic Hip-Hop for Valentine’s Day by Thewordisbond.Com on Mixcloud

I hope you put this on while you make your loved one a nice Valentine’s dinner. Or you can spin it anytime you want to hear some smooth, respectful, hip hop love songs. Be warned that this is some mushy rap but each song bangs. I especially like the closing song by Common, “The Light.” I think that is quite possibly the best hip hop love song of all time. Of course, we had to start out with one of the very first romantic rap songs, “I Need Love” by LL Cool J. We then go into some Slick Rick and Masta Ace before hearing D-sisive’s “I Love a Girl,” which is a sweet song for his special lady. We also hear from Atmosphere, 2Pac, The Roots, and many more in this special 80 minute mix (perfect size to burn to CD) Enjoy the tunes.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

LL Cool J – I Need Love
Slick Rick - A Teenage Love
Masta Ace – Brklyn Masala
D-sisive – I Love a Girl
Atmosphere – She’s Enough
2Pac – Do For Love
The Grouch and Eligh – Highwire Love
Lupe Fiasco – Sunshine
Boog Brown and Apollo Brown – Sunshine
The Roots - You Got Me
Pete Rock & CL Smooth – It’s a Love Thing
Lost Boyz - Renee
Pharoahe Monch - The Light
Nujabes & Substantial -Eclipse
Black Star – Brown Skin Lady
Cormega - All I Need is You
Method Man & Mary J Blige – All I Need
Fat Joe – All I Need
Eric B & Rakim – Mahogany
Common – The Light
