Washington DC-based multi-talented rapper/director/songwriter Zahir started out playing both the piano and trumpet at a young age and later ventured into directing visuals and short films. His debut single “Unusual” saw him teaming up with Phoenix James and Wiseboy Jeremy and that alone laid the foundation for his growing music career. His latest release “Big Drop” caught our ears and showcases his distinct rap style that blends a lot of vocal inflections, nuances and bravado. Over a slick guitar-like pluck-driven backdrop, he gives listeners a solid performance that is hard to box in. From his off-kilter lyrics, and somewhat nonchalant and laidback demeanour, Zahir sure brings somewhat new and refreshing to the scene.
