WIB # 64 Spose Interview by Thewordisbond.Com on Mixcloud

If you haven’t heard the name of Spose, you need to do yourself a favour and press play on this week’s edition of The Word is Bond Podcast.

Spose is a talented emcee, producer, and musician. His song, “I’m Awesome” quickly became a sensation and shot him to what should have been super-stardom. He got signed to a major label and put out some great music. Unfortunately he got dropped from the label but that hasn’t stopped him from recording and releasing music.

“I’m Awesome” can be heard on TV every single week. The producers, writers, and star of the sitcom, Mr. D, loved the song so much that they adopted it to use for their theme song.

My first taste of his music, however, came from “Pop Song.” It’s a great song that takes aim at how record labels want to build hits instead of songs with substance.

We are all about substance here on The Word is Bond. Next month we will be rebranding the show as The Word is Bond Rap Radio Hour with a special episode of unknown underground gems submitted from our readers. We have a lot of great tracks to showcase for you. And we have an excellent episode this week too.

Spose and I kick it for an hour and talk about hip-hop, writing, musicianship, parenthood, and a variety of other topics. We also spin these tracks . . .
