Praised for being the “melodic Post Malone” of his generation by neighboring music blogs, Toronto-based musician Erich Mrak is steadily gaining an influential reputation in experimental hip hop. His latest visual for See You in September is a combined effort between directors Maxym Perron, Kenya Walters, and the rapper/singer. The artist laces together two previous singles, “Riptide” and “Navigate” into a film about the emotional tug-of-war occupying headspaces of the romantically involved, pointing to a poignant truth about love: it often throws us into a revolving door of thought as we’re perpetually trying to figure the other person out.
