It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. Sly Rankin – “Wreckonomics (Clean)”

 

South Florida based Jamaican act Sly Rankin makes his debut on our list with his upbeat single titled “Wreckonomics (Clean).” Blending his island roots and trap vibes, he delivers a solid fusion that is engaging and quite vibrant. Switching from Patois to English, Rankin keeps the energy on high as he also details how we all should be more responsible with our spending habits
After making a name for himself early in his career through collaborative projects with, Gangsta Colony, Sly Rankin stepped out on his own with his unique brand of Jamaican hip-hop or ‘island hop’ as an artist on the Solja Life Records label based in Brooklyn NY. He has had tracks featured on a plethora of MTV and BET reality shows or TV programs and has enjoyed rotation on the local Jamaican airwaves with singles like ‘Tell Dem’, ‘High Grade White Rum’ and most recently ‘Memory Lane’ earlier this year. He migrated to the US in 2014 and has been living in South Florida ever since.

Shelana Azora x Cassius Clifford x RizzyB – “Burn Me”

Rising UK singer Shelana Azora makes her debut on our list with her brand of heartwarming r&b music. Her song “Burn Me” is a nice blend of R&B and Hip Hop with its lush textures and groovy drums courtesy of producer Cassius Clifford. Shelana Azora delivers with her honeyed vocals and raw honest lyrics that explore the bitter-sweet nature of love and it’s capacity to simultaneously hurt and heal. Along for the ride is rapper RizzyB who adds his own 2 cents on the matter.

“Dance With Me” by Buwa is a smooth fusion of pop, R&B and contemporary Nigerian music elements. Backed by a lush and somewhat rousing backdrop, Buwa delivers a heartwarming piece as he pours adulations and profound appreciation for his mother. The smooth-voiced singer ensures his Nigerian listeners are not left behind as he peppers the track with a bit of pidgin English flavour.

West Coast veteran hip-hop artist LUSH ONE (FIN35 Ent) hits us up with “STADEALRYDAZ.” The track is a no frills, no flows barred piece that showcases Lush One’s dense lyrics and unique flow that grip the ears.

He is currently working with producer VODKA THE GROUCH (JordanRiver Recordings) on his projects. Lush’s next album ‘HYAMS’ will be dropping consistently in the following months

James Gardin – “This Family”

James Gardin pays homage to the spirit of love and family on “This Family.” The track is a unique soulful Christmas song where he reflects on how his family was the best gift he’s ever received. The piano-driven record accompanied by a groovy bass line, and toe-tapping drums, will get the whole family out of their seats this holiday season. The Star on top of the tree is a special message in the song from Gardin’s Mom (Diane Gardin) that will give anyone the feels during this holiday season.

CJ Fly – “City We From”

Pro Era Records rapper CJ Fly drops his new single “City We From” featuring Conway The Machine. Backed by a laid-back, cinematic backdrop courtesy of Statik Selektah, the duo send warnings to out-of-towners and strangers who may have a different idea of their city.
About the single, CJ shared, “‘City We From’ is a pretty self-explanatory title. It represents what it’s like to be from where Conway (The Machine)—hailing from Buffalo—and myself in Brooklyn are from. All around, it’s some classic New York rap inspired by real-life experiences.”
