It won’t be fair not to show love to the cats that work behind the boards. Cats whose soundscapes help push hip-hop to loft heights. So in the same vein, this weekly list sheds light on budding and even established producers who continue to push the envelope for the culture. So sit back relax and get familiar with these producers.
Remember, don’t forget to support them by sharing their works.

 Big O – Metal Steps.

The ever ready Big O starts off the Top 10 Instrumental list with a resounding banger titled “Metal Steps”. The cut is short and sweet but packs a punch with its steady groove and reflective textures. The instrumental is a focus from the producer experimenting with multiple different sounds mixed in with some sample accents to give it that nice, winter boom bap throwback. “

“Metal Steps” is one of the many songs that’s featured on the compilation “Winter Dreams.”  “Winter Dreams” is now available on all streaming platforms. More information about Pueblo Vista can be found here.

Uff Alter – Techno Phonk Vol. 2.

We get to hear some very off-kilter experimental sounds from producer Uff ALter as he delivers “Techno Phonk Vol.2”. The 25-minute plus opus is a blend of hard drums, trippy techno synths, and unpredictable vibes. The 9 track project doesn’t aim to follow the norm and will surely keep the listener glued from start to finish with its overall dynamic vibe.

RL Grime – Undo (Feat. Jeremih & Torey Lanez) AWAY REMIX.

While this is not an instrumental in its entirety as it contains some manipulated vocals, it sure fits the list because of its overall style. RL Grime revamps  “Undo” by Jeremih and Torey Lanez and takes it into an interplanetary zone. The dynamic arrangement, hard-hitting drums, and off-kilter textures really make for a solid remix.

“Undo” is taken from his recently released remix project titled Nova Remixes Vol 1

LeVirya – Black Bird (feat. Elleodin).

Trip-hop producer LeVirya (Leon Permentier) shares his latest material titled “Black Bird”. A mellow haunting track that also features the ethereal vocals of singer Elleodin. The emerging producer crafts a very engaging record as he blends lush textures, solemn chord progressions and a myriad of layered instruments that tugs at heart.

“Black Bird” is taken from his new project entitled Late Night Espresso. The project is the producer’s ode to lo-fi hip hop, cassette tape culture, and coffee

Komikamo – FOCKWITME.

UK producer and visual artist who goes by the moniker Komikamo raises the ante with his vibrant track titled “FOCKWITME”. The producer taps a handful of influences for this one. The groove he says is inspired by G-Funk and the textures take some cues from the Gospel genre. The blend is quite innovative and progressive too as new elements get introduced as the song moves along.

Chade Summerset – Champagne Talk.

NY based beatmaker Chaden Summerset closes this week’s list with a solid gem he calls “Champagne Talk”.  His choppy samples and neck-snapping drums hit the bullseye for us as it exudes a blend of the old and the new with it’s neo-boom bap style.

The song is part of the “Golden Ticket Tapes” single series and also featured on the recently released cassette tape sampler “IN THE LAB 01”.
