The project starts with the aptly titled “Quest Love Bounce”, a gritty jam made up of crunchy live drums and haunting pads. The chorus pays homage to Quest Love of The Roots fame and is underpinned by the verbal talents of Skyzoo, Planet Asia and Wais P. Skyzoo leads the crew with his distinct stylish flow followed by Planet Asia’s commanding booming vocals and Wais P closes the case on a high note. The next track “Extras in the Pot” pairs Rome Streetz and Wais P who bring us deep into the mix on this action-packed record. Rome sets off verbal charges with lines like “Long rueger that I hold lift your soul/Brain all over your drip, it’s over fit /nobody you know, spit this cold” followed by Wais P’s graphic imagery “water boiling, oil rising to the top/If the word good, nigga that’s a win/Turn 1 into 2, muthafucking fraternal twins”.
The duo of veteran emcee Hus KingPin and lyricist Che Noir join forces on the soulful “5% Tint”, another gritty jam that blends Hus’ characteristic bravado and Che’s impassioned flow and street-savvy lyricism that hits the soul like “The way I leave the scene, you’d think that I was sent by ISIS/5 Percenters are crew/I never listen to rules,I never ask for rewards/I only rap when I’m bored/I put my life inside the grind, still young but I’m wise like the 5 percenter guys”. It’s three the hard way on “Camera Flash” as we get Illa Ghee, Wais P and Method Man who all break the mould with no-holds-barred bars over Team Demo’s haunting and cinematic backdrop.
“Creep” is a low-key funk-laden banger featuring dope verses from the legendary Westcoast emcee MC Eiht and MONTAGE ØNE. From the sing-song hook to the bass-driven production, the track is essentially theme music for a drive-by, and both emcees deliver that message with raw passion and quotable rhymes like “No pictures, no IGs, no TikToks or twitters/Just killers and penitence with no feelings/Willing to open fire/Let out the whole entire round to your crown/Murk the plug and the fucking buyer”. Termanology and Wais P deliver a head-nodding collaboration on “Odee”, a dark piece that leaves no stone unturned. “Poli With the Plug” continues the cinematic aesthetic with Vado and Kingpen Slim detailing their street activities and the ups and downs that come with it. “Do You Believe?” aims to make listeners believers with the aid of Wais P and Sauce Money. Here, the emcees proceed with verbal haymakers like “We all got guns but you leave it at home/I leave with the throne, everytime I give you a poem/Claiming you spit, need to be stoned and spit upon”. The project closes with 2 hard-hitting gems, the first being “What You Don’t See” featuring Lil Fame from MOP and Nems and “Hallelujah” which recruits The Bad Seed, Planet Asia, and Ras Kass.
Overall, the project is cohesive and is filled to the brim with hard-hitting beats and fiery rap performances by the best of the best from the underground.
