Toronto-based singer/songwriter Tanika Charles is a two-time Juno Awards nominee and three-time Polaris Music Prize nominee whose presence is revered in the Canadian Soul music scene. She is currently working on her fourth album, Reasons To Stay  but in the interim, she shares her second single “Here When You’re Ready” with the world. The track produced by Scott Mc Cannell is a mid-tempo soul ballad with modern jazz elements comprising warm pads, lush piano arrangements and a steady rhythm underpinned by Tanika Charles’ commanding vocals. Here, she takes listeners on an emotional journey of redemption, clarity, sibling love and cycle of conflict and resolutions. Inspired by the tumultuous relationship with her brother, Tanika Charles explores the struggles she faced being a mother figure while holding down the fort of a broken family. Far from throwing blame, she looks at the experience through different nuances and at the end, she will always be there to reconnect because the love will always be there.

The record will be released on limited edition clear 45 vinyl on March 21st.

Her previous studio albums – “Soul Run” (2016),“The Gumption” (2019), and “Papillon De Nuit” (2022)- have propelled her to international acclaim. Extensive touring across North America and Europe has further solidified her reputation, with standout performances at festivals such as Trans Musicales in France, Fusion Festival in Germany, Mostly Funk & Soul Festival and Jazz Festival in the UK, Holy Groove Festival in Switzerland, and Canarias Jazz Festival in Spain.
