LA-based producer/keyboardist Smile High is preparing to drop his RnB/hip-hop/funk album The Vibetape on the 24th of November but in the interim, he shares with us the new single “On the Way”. The mellow soulful jam sees him teaming up with acclaimed singer-songwriter Davion Farris and Grammy/Emmy-winning singer/songwriter Cocoa Sarai. Over the lush dreamy soundscape and pulsating bassline-driven grooves, the singers deliver a mesmerizing and sultry duet ripe with enticing lyrics like “Roll me like sativa, Only if you can keep up/ Kill it Cali Reaper/Ooh yeah, All night shit“.

Smile High is the instrumental solo project for Ben “Smiley” Silverstein, a multi-instrumentalist as well as the keyboard player for jazzy jam band The Main Squeeze. For his collaborative album (and Nettwerk debut), Smile High links with close friends and fellow musicians Horace Bray and Teddy Roxpin, joining forces for a jazzy and uplifting project known as Snack Pack. With each track on the eight song release, the trio properly blend chillhop beats with jazztronica elements, boom bap leanings with lofi grooves, and plenty of guitar riffs in between. Snack Pack makes for a truly relaxing and unique listening experience with the refreshing lead single “Wind Advisory” being simply a taste of things to come.
