Oakland raised emcee Sh8peshifter makes her TWIB debut with the video of her song “Abracadabrakaafrica” which serves as an empowering anthem for black women in America. Backed by a resounding backdrop courtesy of producers Kevin McCann and Just Jones Music, Sh8peshifter delivers a keynote performance that invigorates and stirs the mind. She takes the listener back to the essence and displays the power of the black woman as she proclaims that “black woman is God.”  The track was written as a tribute to the memory of Sandra Bland who suspiciously died at the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2015.  Sh8peshifter adds that she also dedicates it to her daughter and community.

The video for “Abracadabrakaafrica” is very vivid and showcases Sh8peshifter as a spiritual element in every sense of the word. Sh8peshifter notes, “It’s an affirmation and right of passage to have all these powerful black women crowning me in the video. The music video features appearances by Amara Tabor-Smith (UC Berkeley Dept. of Theater and Dance), Nkei Oruche (Afro Urban Society), Karen Seneferu (Berkeley City College), Melora Greene (Community Activist), Ryan Nicole (Actress), Maddy Clifford (Poet), and Lalin St. Juste (The Seshen). With the gripping choreography and imagery which lends its power to the lyrics, Sh8peshifter’s message is accentuated to the max.

“Abracadabrakaafrica” is taken from her upcoming project After Darkness. Sh8peshifter celebrates After Darkness with a special headlining CD release concert in Oakland, CA at the Bandcamp offices on November 1, 2019.
