Roots and Tings have released a stunning lyric video for “Election Time” Ft. Rico Pabon! The video was animated and produced by Ben Stokes and punctuates the greatest election song ever made — a rally call to the masses to exercise their voices and right to vote.

Roots and Tings comments, “‘Election Time’ speaks to the complex feelings Americans have about the upcoming election. The phony political promises, the broken, intrinsically racist, sexist, classist and, in this time, a lying administration that is increasingly, dangerously authoritarian. The need to resist and fight includes- but is not limited to- voting. This song explores that, as well as the “why” behind it.”

They continue, “But the song also speaks to the joy and hope that ‘Election Time’ can embody. The way it can be a time to celebrate as the will of the people is made manifest.”

The Bay Area based Revolutionary Culture Music creators, Roots and Tings, is comprised of Quannum and Solesides co-founder, Grammy nominated MC, Lateef the Truth Speaker, acclaimed Bay Area DJ and producer Jah Yzer and the multi-talented musician and reggae artist Winstrong. Together they have created their unique sound fusing together elements of dancehall and hip-hop into a stunning reggae tapestry with a catchy groove with subversive lyricism hitting hard on their revolutionary culture music stylings!
