Relic The Bully‘s “Read The Room” is an unapologetic and retrospective tune that explores the aftermath of a derailed relationship. Over a smooth R&B-infused backdrop made up of rich synths, warm pads and snapping drum grooves, Relic talks about a situation where staying with that someone will hurt more than letting go so he had to choose the latter. Lines like “personally I was hurting cause my flower wouldn’t grow/how could I bring you shine/how could I water vines when the root of the problem was you were never mine” see the Southside Chicago emcee coming to terms with the situation and making the bold step to move on.
