Red Pill focuses on what I consider ‘real rap’. There’s a place for braggadocio and ignorance and words for the sake of words in hip-hop, but it’s also important to keep it heartfelt, raw and personal, and it’s off the back of that Red Pill has developed such a loyal fan base and solid reputation in the underground seen. ‘Look What This World Did To Us’, the first single off the Detroit MC’s upcoming solo album of the same name, displays this perfectly, as he shares precisely what’s on his mind.
