Emerging Brooklyn based musician Rebel G takes us on an energetic and somewhat offbeat ride on her new single “HIGHFALUTIN.”  The genre-bending act takes elements from hip-hop, grime, and dark electronic music to create this personal piece that details what makes her tick. She adds via email that the title has its roots in Yiddish and Briitish English showing her broad sense of creativity. Armed with her rapid-fire delivery style and dense lyrical arrangements, Rebel G gives the listener a sneak purview into her life from her upbringing to her growth as a creative.

Rebel G’s stewpot rhythmic selections draw inspiration from a spectrum of global sounds and genres, including Middle Eastern, Latin, Klezmer, the Avant Garde, Grime, House, and Hip-Hop/Trap. Rebel G challenges existing perspectives through her multi-dimensional lyrics and dynamic flow.

“HIGHFALUTIN” is taken from her newest release bits (n) bobs, a 9 track body of work that focuses on language, and its modern-day dilution. With it, Rebel attempts a universally relatable album through one of our most universal tools – language, encouraging listeners to question their social conditioning.
