Alternative genre-bending hip-hop act Quinja is preparing for her sophomore album, which is scheduled to drop in December but in the interim,  she delivers her second single “Crown Princess”. The Afrocentric and experimental track is ripe with punchy percussions, cinematic pads and an overall vibrant groove that is underpinned by Quinja’s distinct fiery flow and unapologetic lyricism that reminds listeners that she is the one. She sure is charting her own path with the bravado-laden conscious lyrics and refuses to conform to the industry standards that try to box in women in hip-hop. Quinja is definitely not the one to play with as she breaks the mould and states her claim with lines like “It’s my time, watch me take this rap game to higher heights/ Crown princess on the rise and she got the vibe, she has been on her grind“.

“Crown Princess” is the second of 7 singles from Quinja that will serve as precursors to her forthcoming album.
