Paper Thieves  return with their brand of the unique psychedelic soul as they thrill us with this gripping release titled “Oh Man.” The track is helmed by Leah Christensen who raises the ante with her laid back moody vocal tone over the sublime backdrop laid before her. She goes forth to detail her experiences in the male-dominated music industry and all the challenges she faced trying to fully express her creativity.

Leah sings of feeling inferior and of submissiveness with lyrics like “He came in feathers: bird of paradise. Already had a title. No need to prove or sacrifice.” In the bridge, Leah details her self-awareness; that she has been living in an illusion that she is inferior. “No rest for the wicked when I still worship in his pew.”

The new release accompanies the band’s NZ tour in March this year.
