Growing up in different countries is what NAI credits the most as the reason for his sound. This Nigerian born beatmaker definitely has a unique sound that I can only describe as Off-Kilter. From the synths to the strings, all the way down to the kicks and samples, NAI definitely has a signature on the beats found in this project, Deep Blue Jungle, that he has uniquely created which will be almost difficult to associate with anyone else. I guess the nomad life in his upbringing has really helped NAI be the producer he is today and I can’t help but hear his vulnerability and the melancholy of water in the sounds he is mining. Takes me back to J Dilla‘s Donuts where you can hear the pain in the music. Of course y’all know I have a bias to beautiful beattapes and I advise you guys to feel what I am preaching.
