I’ve got a huge amount of appreciation for the Japanese underground hip-hop scene, the way they have taken the jazzy sound and embellished it with a sense of nostalgia whilst being incredibly forward thinking, and Tokyo’s HISANOVA is the latest name to add to the increasing list of names to look out for. He remixes MURO‘s ‘XXX-Large Pt.2’, a 7″ from 1997 I think, spraying a crisp snare and snazzy sax lick over the beat. Enjoy.
