Maka, Nigerian afro-soul musician, has just put out the visuals for Chocolate Love, off her critically acclaimed project “It’s Not You; It’s Me” which came out November of 2019.
In her continued promotion of black art, the video highlights the beauty, energy and joy of being black using the metaphors and entendres associated with chocolate. In a time where black pain is amplified more than ever, the visuals hope to be a source of escapism and pride. In her words:
“I’m pushing the narrative of celebrating and promoting black love and excellence. It’s a message the world needs right now”
