In a note posted on twitter, Madlib will be releasing a new album next month – with the arrangement being done by Kieran Hebden – who goes by Four Tet. The relationship between these two goes back to at least 2005 when the English musician remixed the Madvillain album.

According to Hebden, this album was in the making over the past few years, as he was sent over “hundreds of pieces of music” while composing it to fit his vision.

“….I was listening to some of his new beats and studio sessions when I had the idea that it would be great to hear some of these ideas made into a Madlib solo album,” Four Tet said. “Not made into beats for vocalists to use but instead arranged into tracks that could flow altogether in an album…”

This wasn’t the first time this album was spoken of. Back in October, a screengrab from a chat Hebden was featured in was posted on twitter.

The album, called Sound Ancestors, will be an instrumental album. This will be his 11th studio album, and will be released under the Madlib Invazion imprint. The first single, Road Of The Lonely Ones, will be premiering on Mary Anne Hobbs’ show on BBC 6 Music Monday.
