Kaleel Carpè is treading the least traveled path and he emphasizes that on his new release titled “Naan Nigga.” The title pays homage to the classic cut of the same title by Trick Daddy and Trina and sees Carpè detailing several reasons why he is not like the others. He sure makes good use of the bouncy trap backdrop and delivers an impassioned performance laced with bravado and off-the-cuff lyrics to match the energy of the beat.

The video directed by Paul Jahn is quite engaging and captures Carpè in his true element doing what he knows best. The seamless fusion of performance shots, cut scenes, and storyboarding is solid too. Somewhat hilarious but helps buttress the message of being different.
