East London raised singer JONES makes a splash on our site with the visual for her pop-infused single titled “Giving It Up.” The singer who first made a mark on the music industry some 3 years ago with her debut LP New Skin is back with this new single for 2020. The track sees her working with emerging producer/artist Fyfe (Kimbra, Foxes) and Mike Spencer (Rudimental, Zara Larsson, Tom Walker). the duo craft a smooth and warm backdrop for JONES’s alluring vocals resulting in a classic feel-good jam that we definitely need in these wild times. JONES doesn’t hold back her innermost feelings on the track and goes full throttle like a kid in toy store. She further adds via email that ‘the song is kinda like where I found love in a very unexpected person… it also feels like the start of summer.”’
The track’s accompanying video directed by the Bosnian-Canadian filmmaker and musician Nina Ljeti comprises of performance shots that focus JONES looking elegant and stylish on a beachfront location. Her performance is complemented by a succession of striking images. The visuals chart the natural beauty of how a variety of types of weather impacts upon the coast, from hazy sunshine to sweeping clouds to sudden strikes of lightning.
