Friends and family of the legend J Dilla took to the stage over in downtown Los Angeles for the 15th annual Dilla Fest, to celebrate the release of his Donuts album. Brought to you by Grand Performances (in collaboration with Fusicology), this event hosted by Azul Amaral has brought out a number of guests like Frank-N-Dank, Illa J, Talib Kweli, and more.

This event also brought out Dilla fans of all ages.

What wasn’t known was that the featured guests came through with special guests. Guests like Diamond D performed with Kweli a couple of songs that is going to be on a future project that they’re collaborating on. Fresno’s own Planet Asia came through spitting a couple of verses that wooed the crowd. Robert Glasper was playing on the keys during Kweli’s performance, and the legendary Daru Jones getting down on the drums – even had a back and forth with DJ Rhettmatic.
