In an upcoming article from Rolling Stone, Eminem discusses his expectations for his new album, Marshall Mathers LP 2 (which will be out in less than a couple of weeks [Nov. 5th]). According to him, it’s not really a sequel ‘as much as it is a revisitation’. I’m sure that most folks are expecting it to be like the original Marshall Mathers LP, which many fans do consider a classic.  Aware of the possibility that he might catch some backlash, Eminem decides to speak on the matter.

“Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations,” he says. “I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘Fuck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.”

Eminem even reminds fans not to expect the album to be like his 2000 classic. “So there’s not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that,” he explains. “To me, it’s more about the vibe, and it’s more about the nostalgia.”

In other news, Eminem will be releasing a deluxe edition of his new album (which you can see the new cover below in comparison to its previous one). The album will contain a bonus disc which includes five new songs. Check the official tracklist below–it includes the bonus tracks as well.
