Indie rapper Eglowitz makes his entry on our site with his latest body of work titled Lifelines. The 6 track project sees him collaborating with artists such as My Rapper Friend Greg, Macadon Blackheart, Dom Jovi, and others.

The project opens up with “Last Rites,” a solemn piano-driven song that displays Eglowitz’s heartfelt lyrics that dwell on false promises and accusations of neglect. He is joined by Queens-based MC My Rapper Friend Greg and spoken word poet Macadon Blackheart who both bring nuance and reflective elements to the record. In “Robin’s Egg Blue,” Eglowitz shares a tale of a young woman trying to find her footing as she moves away from her parent’s nest. The reflective record also has StushKaiser and Dom Jovi who join the fray with their unique take on the issue. This is followed by the nostalgia-inducing “Rainy Days,” a somber piece ripe with heavenly horns, jazzy piano chords, and soft drums. Eglowitz pours his heart and adulation on the lady in his life while singer Julia Rose complements his vivid lyrics with her sultry melodic runs. Next up is “Sunshine,” which flips a classic soul sample for the rapper’s honest and heartfelt love-soaked lyrics.  The project closes out with “Sugar and Spice” and “Under your nose.” The former is a bravado-laden collabo with rapper Katy Paris while the latter is a reflective track that dives into his growth and personal struggles.

Overall, Lifelines is quite mellow, reflective, and somber. Eglowitz really pours his heart out at every chance he gets but also shows his lyrical side on a couple of bravado tracks.
