Brownsville emcee Donathephoenix returns after a long hiatus in the rap game with the visuals for her single “The Phoenix.” The record is an introductory record of some sorts that sees her detailing her life journey from when she first started in the game till now. Backed by a soulful and anthemic backdrop, she delivers a gripping performance ripe with vivid and evocative lyrics about the events that led to her hiatus.

The visual is cinematic and captures the rapper in her element while showing the different facets of people in her stomping grounds. I am not sure if this song is attached to a project but it feels awesome hearing her voice once again after so long. She also has plans on dropping another single next month.
