Cleveland, OH based rapper/singer/songwriter Dave Zup is a man who wears many hats. From working in front and behind the scenes and strictly hands-on with his craft, he delivers a blend of the old and contemporary while fusing different genres together. His new single “Track 8 (Don’t Try This at Home)” is a showcase of his ingenuity as he teams up with Alex Fitts (The Kickdrums) to forge a soothing funk-laden backdrop for Zup’s chilled flow and descriptive lyrics.

Dave is also a vocalist and producer for MEGA PIXEL, a collaborative Pop project that he formed with Dayton-based singer/songwriter, Benjamin “BJSR” Rivet. Since debuting the group in 2017, Zup and Rivet have released 2 EPs together and have performed at festivals such as SXSW. In 2017, Zup released his debut album: Oh, It’s Going, which drew inspiration from Hip-Hop’s first Golden Age and 70’s funk, OIG served as a bright and bouncy introduction to the emerging emcee. The 10-track, self-produced LP spans just under 25 minutes and is the result of Zup’s 3 month recovery period following reconstructive leg surgery.
