NY singer/songwriter Drea is preparing to drop her new Ocean Avenue EP but in the interim, she shares with us  a single titled “Ritual”

The track starts off with a lush acoustic guitar arrangement that makes up most of the song, the percussions are soft which allows Drea’s vocals to really stand out. Her sublime vocals and melodic runs work effortlessly over the nostalgia-inducing backdrop and really showcases her prowess behind the microphone. Adding a huge dose of confident sensuality into the mix is not a bad idea too and she was able to express her most intimate thoughts without sounding forced or out of place. From the subtle songwriting and motifs, she used to describe love as some sort of ritual to the way she layers her harmonies sure makes “Ritual” a stand out for us.

The Ocean Avenue EP is a crossroads of Drea’s eclectic musical background. A hybridization of influences from growing up, Drea pulls equally from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu, and Alicia Keys as well as from Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty to name a few.
