Rising rapper Charles Edison goes into introspective mode on his newest single aptly titled “My Mother”. Over a laid-back, soulful backdrop he takes the listener through his tumultuous childhood growing up without his biological mother and eventually raised by his step mum. In the end, he makes it known that he may have a difficult relationship with his step mum but the track stands as a solid tribute to her for being there for him.

It may not sound novel but the compassionate approach and angle make it more compelling than most.
