The late Cadet who tragically passed last year February is still being mourned by close friends, family and fans globally. The hard-working emcee had already put in much work and was preparing to drop his debut at the time but due to his unfortunate demise, the project was pushed back. He did drop the visual for the thought-provoking song “Gang Gang” late last year and now we get the lead single from his album The Rated Legend.

The single in question is titled “Support Me,” which is a heartfelt record about love, loyalty and of course support from his true friends and family. Backed by the smooth alluring textures, Cadet details his thoughts and to some extent his frustrations when the lack of support creeps in. For someone trying to get ahead and progress, it’s usually hard when close relatives don’t show the much-needed support or encouragement. Cadet once again delivers the goods with his trademark energetic flow and heartfelt lyrics that everyone can latch on to.

The single is also accompanied by a short film directed by Labi Abebunmi (Stefflon Don, French Montana, Fekki) and award-winning Leon Mayne, (who also wrote the screenplay). The short film depicts the need for support in a relationship, (touching on what this support should or should not look like), told from the perspective of someone whose career is progressing. The split-screen featured throughout the film illustrates the dichotomy of support from a relationship on one side and lack of support on the other.
