In my opinion, a debut project is one of two things: something that works, or something that doesn’t. There is no middle ground, no sitting on the fence if you’re trying to make that best first impression. Nowadays, with lowered attention spans and a multitude of musicians springing out of the woodwork, it’s really hard to zero in on the more talented crop, but a name like Brandy Shanice automatically raises my (and I want to believe it’s the same for everyone else) expectations, and fortunately the singer definitely brings it. Sound-wise, her producers craft the perfect soundscape for her to flex her vocal muscle over, a mix of new age bouncy head nodders and some vintage sounding ones.

I almost missed out on this submission… almost.

Brandy Shanice is here with her debut project, Eclection! Featuring production from BC of Necronam Beats, O C Thomas, Hall of Fame, and Evil Needle. Brandy Shanice introduces herself to the world as the next big thing out of Houston. Eclection is a serving platter of Brandy’s ability to deliver a diverse project full of different styles. From the first track to the last, you’ll get to hear stories from her past over a variety of musical selections.
