Lagos-born Nigerian rapper/ producer, Blessarosa makes an entrance on our site with his new mixtape Some Smoke, a 13 track body of work that sees him flexing his lyrical muscles over a mix of Afropop and hip-hop sounds. The project is just another outlet for the Lagos-based rapper to share his thoughts.

He opens up with the instrumental of Adekunle Gold‘s “5 Star” and follows it with “Miracle GOD” where he kicks a short verse. Other tracks that stand out include “Wtf”, “Do Not Disturb” and “Johnny P’s Caddy” where he makes use of some popular instrumentals to display some verbal gymnastics. Although most of the tracks are short, Blessarosa gives a nuanced view of things ranging from personal demons, struggles and a whole lot of bravado that lovers of real rap would appreciate.
