Philly emcee B. West’s newest release “The Narrative” is a semi-autobiographical tune that takes listeners and viewers down memory lane to where it started. From his days running wild as a youth in the 90s, meeting different characters in the beautiful neighborhoods on the north side of town. From the various food joints, malls, skating rinks where he and his friends used to hang out, and more, B.West delivers a nostalgic piece that many listeners can appreciate and even relate to in one way or the other. The best part is the way he breaks down each event and location so even if you haven’t been to Philly, you can visualize how it felt but then again he delivers a solid visual to bring life to the song as well.

The visual as expected brings viewers closer to the mix of the action as it blends B.West’s performance style with the actual location he speaks about. There’s also footage of B. West with Meek Mill and fellow guest Jadakiss in the clip for “The Narrative,” which, in keeping with the song’s theme, foregrounds Philly in all its grit and glory.

Overall, the video has a 90s DIY feel and gives a nostalgic vibe that works well with the detailed lyrics.
