Mexican producer Argonbeats gifts us with his new release “Danzón” taken from his latest project entitled Pimienta. A 6 track body of work which he describes as the end of an era and the beginning of a new one as he blends the experiences of the early quarantine/lockdown and his own search for self awareness through the madness.  The project is released via the Mixtura label.

The project opens up with “Danzón” a happy feel-good tune ripe with bouncy and punchy drums and bright textures. This is followed by “Four-Extended Version,” a somewhat solemn tune made up of heavenly horns, smooth textures, and mellow drum grooves. He switches the style on “Green 2.0” which bears a soulful and ethereal texture with an engaging but sparse arrangement. “Sorpresa” is a moody and melancholic beat that exudes lofi/soul sensibilities while “Four” which closes out the tape has a cinematic and somewhat atmospheric aura about it.
