The duo of emcee AKD and Deepstar (on the boards) just dropped their collabo project titled Universal Language and I must add that it’s pretty solid. On another note the features vary between legends (AG, Masta Ace), Underground stalwarts (G Dot, Nutso) while the sole “femcee” (I hate that word) comes in the form of her royal rapness Rapsody.

Soundwise you gonna hear a blend of 90s boombap, Jazz elements, matter of fact ethereal/dreamy soundscapes as well which gives this project its authenticity while AKD effortlessly handles the lyrical side of things. From the jump he makes his Ghanian origin known when he fuses his native language into his raps which adds an extra touch to his rapid fire delivery. A brilliant project worth the time and MONEY so go out and support the duo!

Universal Language has finally landed, AKD & DEEPSTAR’s debut album together has been in the works for 3 years and carefully prepared as a representation of their pure love for the culture of Hip Hop. From Soul to Jazz to Classical to grittier atmospheric vibes Universal
Language makes every effort to give you a taste of as many flavours as possible with a
consistent overall flow across 21 tracks, containing 2 bonus remixes.
