From October 2nd-6th, aside from the Hip Hop Festival, the A3C will be hosting movie screenings, premieres, music videos, and panel discussions as a part of their film festival. But on October 3rd, headlining it will be the east coast premiere of Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton: This is Stones Throw Records. Directed by Jeff Broadway and featuring Peanut Butter Wolf, Madlib, DOOM, Kanye West, A-Trak and more, Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton chronicles 15-plus years of independent hip-hop history through the storied lens of Los Angeles’ Stones Throw Records. Variety called the documentary “full of inspired detours, colorful non sequiturs, inside jokes and unexplained phenomena that will likely give hip-hop fans paroxysms of pleasure” and for the first time, people outside of LA will get a chance to see it.

After the screening there will be a Q&A with Jeff Broadway, as well as with other film and music makers. There will also be an official Stones Throw afterparty with Peanut Butter Wolf, JonWayne, and other special guests that will be announced later, so stay tuned later for the details of the location of the party.
