Phife Dawg recently spoke with the Montreal Gazette about a possible Tribe reunion. The good news is Phife wants to do a tour and he knows the fans do as well. The bad news is scheduling may be tough. It’s days like these that make me wish I born a few years earlier so I could’ve seen them when they toured regularly. Shit, I’d spend my life savings to attend a Tribe concert.

Anyway, here’s the copy of the interview:

“We’ve got to take it one day at a time,” the rapper said, regarding the possibility of getting back together with his old microphone partner Q-Tip and DJ-producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. Together they formed one of the landmark rap groups of the early ’90s, not to mention the history of hip hop.

“We’re really, really far away from (a reunion) right now,” Phife continued, on the phone Monday from the Bay Area, where he has lived with his wife since 2004.

“But you never know. We’re brothers at the end of the day. Tip is the type of guy who is always busy, then on a whim he calls you and says, ‘Meet me at the studio.’ Next thing you know, we’ve started something.

“Everyone has to be patient with us, and keep your fingers crossed. I’m keeping mine crossed. I’m ready to rock ’n’ roll. I want to get busy. As much as I love solo projects, at the end of the day, the fans want a joint effort.”

My fingers remain crossed.
