“Chance to advance” is a perfect way to open the project as we get to understand what really motivates the rapper. Over a soulful and solemn backdrop comprising moody keys and a haunting melodic vocal, A1 Beanz gives listeners a masterclass in rapping as he kicks lines like “The goal is to graduate from weed to LLCs/Diversify my portfolio/I’m needing more income streams/What do i look like mopping and making meals like Mickey D’s/I skip Yale to move fishscales, I’m like the seven seas.” The next track, “Perfectly pacing,” is a detailed look at the hustler’s mentality and never-say-die spirit that fuels his ambition. The production is cinematic and oozes urgency, which is punctuated by A1 Beanz commanding flow and vivid depiction of the never-ending grind. He sounds relentless as he weaves through the concrete jungle with bars like “I sent it little South but I bought it in Burbank and if the paper come short then he having a long day/What he say is what he meant/And if I get to tripping like fender benders give em a dip.” After the round trip into the dark crevices, the rapper gets reflective on “Look at what God Did” as he takes stock of his life’s journey and how far he has come. It’s a heartfelt track that shows his flaws, humble beginnings and the power of human resilience. This leads into “Doctor Doctor,” a gritty track that evokes early Cypress Hill with an East Coast vibe. The ominous keys, heavy bass-driven drums, all add to the mystique and gloom while A1 Beanz delivers another round of fiery lyrical content for the ears.
A1 Beanz continues to show a different side to his artistry by using his storytelling proficiency to evoke emotions and add nuance to his life. “Mailbox Money” dives into growth, integrity and the benefits of playing the long game. The beat has a particularly striking feel reminiscent of a summer afternoon where one is just chilling and reflecting. “Pressure Applied” is another hard-hitting jam that lives up to its title. The rapper holds nothing back and applies pressure on his enemies while “Food 4 thought” featuring Ash the Author is an insightful piece about street codes and the consequences of standing on business. The final track, “Politic_n” features Foe DeeOZ and is an interesting switch in terms of sound. The West Coast-inspired track is bouncy and has an experimental feel as well, and as per usual, A1 Beanz comes through with solid bars laced with vivid storytelling and bravado. Fellow rapper Foe DeeOZ is not far behind and adds his own 2 cents to the track.
Other notable tracks include the smoky “Peepin_” which comes with a Dungeon Family-inspired hook, the love-laden “Maybe (I need love)” where he explores the thin line between lust and true love. “Back against the ropes” is a dope, grimy and social commentary track that will get listeners in the zone as well.
