Within the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, hopes still run high in New York and the city of Brooklyn. The city has much to celebrate with the coming of there first professional sports team the Brooklyn Nets. Hip hop icon Jay-Z  moved the New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn this past summer, proving the intimate relationship between hip hop and basketball. Tonight, November 3rd 2012 marks the home opener for the Nets at the Barclays center with much anticipation of greatness for the city.

Brooklyn could also be considered one of the most culturally diversified cities in America which is why it drew much interest from Travel Chanel television star Anthony Bourdain. He recently sat down with Brooklyn native Talib Kweli. The two spoke about the changes that have happened in Brooklyn over the years, as Talib recalls his memories and speaks on his childhood growing up on Myrtle Ave. They also speak about the changes that are happening within black culture, including fashion when he was growing up. The episode will air Monday November 5th, 9:00 on an episode of No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain. A preview can be seen here:
