To commemorate the 90th birthday of Malcolm X (today – May 19, 2015), Yasiin Bey speaks on the significance of X today to curator Sohail Daulatzai for the Return Of The Mecca: The Art of Islam and Hip-Hop exhibit in Paris, France – especially for those who Bey says are “…poor, or hungry, or hunted.” Bey poignantly reflects on the lasting influence of X, whom he calls a “style icon, a political thinker, and philosopher.”
