Brooklyn-bred hip hop artist, Ali Bey, releases new single, “I Self Law Am Master,” a follow-up to his independently-released EP, I t’s All Love . The track is from his upcoming project,
Negus , slated for an early 2016 release. Before adopting the moniker Ali Bey, he was a member of underground hip hop group, Rise and Shine. The 12” single they released through Rawkus Records, “Gotcha Back,” was produced by hip hop legend, DJ Premier of Gangstarr. Rise and Shine has opened and performed with many notable artists, such as Black Star, Dead Prez, Erykah Badu, Souls of Mischief, Common and De La Soul. Bey’s side project Queen’s Pawn, garnered attention with Suzuki motorcycles, who tapped him to be the representative for the 2008 release of the Hyabusa bike, as well as getting him the opening slot for
Sadat X’s performance at the notable venue, The Knitting Factory.
