Brooklyn, NY,-based Florida-born rapper Wartime Will introduces us to his roots in “Slip N Slide”. The single has a punchy and edgy aesthetic that works perfectly with his subtle melodic flow and vivid lyricism that details his life and trials and tribulations. He is quite unapologetic and candid with lines like “I gotta be my own boss, cos I am on my time/ I just close all the blinds and take you into my mind/ Spend it all while I am here, cos I can’t take it with me” which is more than succinct to explain his state of mind.

Overall it is quite interesting hearing a Florida rapper fusing NY hip-hop aesthetics with his deep roots but it’s a breath of fresh air if you asked us.
