For those of you that follow Word Is Bond you may know i’m Irish, and it’s always been a source of shame for me that we havn’t produced any credible hip-hop artists, as of yet. Maybe that’s about to change with Dublin rapper Lecs Luther. He dropped this video “Dhia Dhuit” (which is Irish for ‘god be with you’) last month. His real name is Alex Anyaegbunam (despite some other blogs getting that wrong). The beat is from a Cali producer, as right now Lecs is out in the states. A lot of people are wondering about his accent, but hes assured me his Irishness is going to come out in his future work. He’s only 18 but is as gifted lyrically as most of his U.S. counterparts.
