The Dragon Fli Empire is back with a brand new release for the year as they share the video for their funky, entertaining and educating jam titled “Fli Beat Patrol.” The Djar One-produced banger has all the classic elements from jazz, boom-bap drums, dope rhymes and cuts to match. As usual emcee, Teekay and turntablist/producer DJ Cosm get to work as they deliver a healthy dose of hip-hop tributes, historical musical details behind the culture’s roots in funk and soul. and then some.

For the visuals, it’s strictly a DIY affair as DJ Cosm gets his director cap on and takes us back to the essence while Teekay handled editing duties.

“Fli Beat Patrol” appears as the B-side on the duo’s Record Store single, which contains the J-Live featured title track on the A-side. The 7-inch 45 is available now via Ill Adrenaline Records’ online store, Fat Beats, HHV and various record stores around the globe. Quantities are limited to just 300 units in classic black, along with a yellow variant limited to just 100 units which can be purchased exclusively on the Ill Adrenaline website and select record stores.
