Youngstown, OH, hip-hop artist Unc Doe‘s latest release, “Pick Up What I’m Droppin’ ” is a hard-hitting cut that highlights pure lyricism over punchy beats. The self-produced cut echoes the classic underground sound with punchy drum grooves, sped-up vocal sampling with moody chord chops that evoke urgency. Here, Unc Doe proceeds to not only share his thoughts on being true to oneself but also showcase his lyrical abilities as a capable emcee.
Lines like “I don’t rock with just anybody/Money is not good enough reason/??? style why sign up for treason?/Use your nogging for more than targets/why experience rigor mortis to prove you’re the hardest?” underscore his frame of mind, and he continues to push the envelope with the rest of the track.
