Jeristotle sums up his feelings and to some degree ours as well in his new release “I Don’t Feel Like Doing Shit Today.” The track is a reflective anthem for those days when we all feel like just lounging and not expending energy on anything. Jeristotle flows effortlessly over the dark soundscape with a blend of introspection and bravado.

 

 

Werdperfect – “Falling For It”.

Cleveland, Ohio native Werdperfect drops off “Falling For It,” a heartfelt reflective tune that explores the ups and downs of life. Over a soft soulful sample with soft grooves, werdperfect details the unpredictability that comes with chasing one’s goals.

 

Cinoevil – “Mammoth”

Cinoevil‘s latest release “Mammoth” is a showcase of his rapping skills. Over a self-produced track, the rapper doesn’t hold back and shows us a masterclass in raw unfiltered rapping.

JRoberts returns with a new release “What’s The Deal” Featuring Ayoo Bigz and Body Bag Ben. Over a dark and ominous soundscape laced with downtempo boom-bap drums, the emcees deliver luci verses with energetic flows and engaging rhyme schemes.

 

J Faith x D-Rock – “Carry Me”.

 

J Faith and D-Rock unveil their new single “Carry Me”. featuring Vincent Tesoro. The track is a reflective and heartfelt tune that explores the never-ending struggles we all face and the pressures that come with it but with a belief in God, all things are possible.

Pink Jagg – “Charlie’s Angels”

 

Emerging rapper/songwriter Pink Jagg enters our playlist with his new release “Charlie’s Angels.” Bolstered by atmospheric and surreal textures alongside Pink’s breathy melodic flow, the track explores blossoming love and the growing tension during human interactions.

 

Kenny Sharp – “Smooth”.

 

Singer/songwriter Kenny Sharp keeps it “Smooth” in his new release. The funk-soul piece is ripe with rich vocal runs, layered harmonies, a hypnotic bass-driven groove and slick guitar licks to complete the job. Just think, a modern-day Prince with a 90s New Jack Swing edge.

 

 

Breadman MGV – Featuring Iesha Patterson – “Steal The Show”.

 

Philadelphia’s Breadman MGV teams up with singer Iesha Patterson for his new single “Steal The Show.” The track has a retro soulful vibe underpinned by punchy trap grooves and is laced with pleasing melodic runs and uplifting rap verses that are laced with vivid rhyme schemes.

 

 

Thutmose – “Ballon D’or”

 

US-based Nigerian artist/songwriter Thutmose raises the ante with “Ballon D’or.” The football award-inspired tune sees him flowing over a plucky Amapiano soundscape comprising ominous strings, and punchy log drums with an undeniable groove. Here Thutmose employs a lot of football references and analogies to get his point across. The song is taken from his new EP Heaven On Earth.

 

Micah Vaultz – “My Sun Gone Shine!”.

 

South Central, California-based artist Micah Vaultz‘s new release “My Sun Gone Shine!” sees him collaborating with famous & christiana. Over the soulful and punchy backdrop provided by krysshun, Micah sends positivity and reassurance toward the listener reminding them to stay on target and never lose hope. The chorus is soothing and the melodies by christiana lingers in the ear

 

Nyne May – “One of These Days”.

 

Emerging rapper Nyne May delivers this heartfelt and uplifting track “One of These Days” to our earshot. Over a soulful and summery soundscape, Nyne explores her journey thus far and the hurdles she had to overcome be it, internal or otherwise to get to this point. Her flow is laidback and chilled but the lyrics are lucid and engaging.

 

 

 

LIE NING – “Charade”.

 

We close out this week’s playlist with singer/songwriter LIE NING‘s newest release “Charade,” a hi-energy pop/R&B infused record that showcases their expressive style and wide vocal range. The song explores their love-hate relationship with their home country of Germany and dives into the socio-politics and how it affects LIE NING in several ways. From the feeling of being overlooked, and neglected by the mainstream to being misunderstood as an artist, LIE NING details their trepidations as an outlier living in a place that only seeks conformity.
