The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, and it has taken flight from multi-million dollar budget music videos to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Che Noir and acclaimed production duo The Other Guys have released their collaborative project No Validation and now they share the visuals for their song “Smooth Jazz” featuring 38 Sesh. The track is a solid showcase of lyricism from Che Noir whose commanding flow takes precedence over the anthemic soundscape provided by The Other Guys. The visual style is a blend of style and class and showcases Che Noir’s poise and charisma against different set pieces and the beautiful cityscapes.

 

Skatey P x Marshall Hugh – “State to State”

Seattle, WA hip hop meets Anchorage, Alaska Hip Hop as Skatey P connects with Marshall Hugh for “State to State.” The track has a laidback West coast boune with a bit of East Coast elements and sees the emcees trading bars laced with playful and entertaining themes that capture their different styles. The visuals also dives into their music making process showing the duo in the lab as they ru through records.

 

Skatey P x Gunior The Godfather – “Checc”.

 

Alaska-raised rapper Skatey P connects with Gunior The Godfather for “Checc.” The track is an aspirational tune that dive sinto the hustler’s mentality and the price of success for a young black man. The visual explores Skatey P’s fashionable style and his love for novelty threads.

Jarian Green – “Drown”

Emerging rapper/singer/songwriter Jarian Green enters our playlist with “Drown,” a heartfelt and emotional piece about heartbreak and the pain that comes with it. The production has a new age R&B/trap vibe and sees Green in his element as he shares his experiences in a tumultous relationship. The visuals uses lots of performance shots with a focus on Green.
