This here is a video from a cat who I hadn’t had the pleasure of feeling his work until now. Tah Y is his name and he hails from Queens, one of the boroughs of New York. I like the feel of the boom bap – which, of course, should come naturally to him as a New Yorker – but what worries me is that this still somewhat has that Southish bounce to it and that always ends up in some sort of debate all the time with New York emcees going the other way. In my opinion, this here is ill enough and Tah Y has shown he can attack the microphone. I look forward to more indeed from Tah Y especially since he has an EP about to drop titled Made in Manhattan and hope that the bridge isn’t over for him.
