Producer SUMO crafts a mellow soulful backdrop for his latest posse cut titled “Hardball”. The song features two of his platform mates, GBA and 7¢ HERM as well as New Orleans-based heavyweight rhymer, Chad Conquering Lion. With a beautifully arranged sample and hard yet conscious raps, these New Orleans based emcee hit it out of the park with “HARDBALL”.

Bio: SUMO (born Joshua Guidry) is a New Orleans based beat maker and record producer. He is the in-house producer for his platform and management company, The Grotto. His sampling is a little more than breath taking and his drums are grimy and full of southern style grit. SUMO began his producing career making beats for platform mates, 7¢ HERM and GBA in 2013. During this time, SUMO was apart of the local rap collective, 7ARC ( 7¢ HERM [then known as Hermi7 Khalfani], CashMoneyChip and himself). They achieved much regional success after the release of their debut collective record, “7NiggazGetDa$$$”. He worked on a number of loose records before he spearheaded the production of 7¢ HERM’s first LP, Deaf + Blind. Soon after, the collective took a break from making music. SUMO continued to work with artists in the New Orleans region. In 2016, SUMO along with 7¢ HERM and a close friend, DaVon Sonix, signed onto The Grotto Mgmt. and began to record music again. In mid 2017, SUMO again helped 7¢ HERM on his EP, Granny’s 7th Boy and since the two have gone to work on a number of new projects together
