Rising chi-town-based NY rapper/songwriter SSID came into the scene sometime in 2016 when he started releasing music on SoundCloud and is slowly growing beyond North America with his brand of genre-bending musical style. His latest single “Ginja Me” sees him heading to France to collaborate with Nigerian Afrobeats singer Nicki Brown and together they craft a smooth afrobeat-infused jam that everyone can rock with.
Bolstered by the rich pulsating guitar plucks, infectious drum grooves and robust moody pads, SSID talks about his experiences trying to balance love and his music career at the same time. Here the duo deliver a mix of soothing melodic flows as they implore listeners to always pay attention to that special someone and give them the attention they truly deserve. The title comes from Nigerian slang, “ginja” (Ginger) meaning something that brings one joy.
